Issue #32

'e' is for 'everything'

“When you have wit of your own, it's a pleasure to credit other people for theirs.”
― Criss Jami, Killosophy

Reading the news has become a painful exercise. I must admit I've taken a break from reading the daily headlines because, frankly, my heart can't take it. I've been backing away from Twitter and Facebook and resorting to posting pictures of my feet in flip-flops ... in February. 'Hard-hitting stuff.

While I fully understand that keeping up with the day's news is a healthy habit, doing so has felt far from healthy for a while now.

I recently devised a workaround: following my friends' work. Somehow, a discussion about Alex Jones becomes far less stress-inducing when you hear your friend talk about it. The seemingly intractable problem of getting more girls and women into STEM is far less frustrating when you know your reading your friend's work. It's much easier to listen to a daily podcast when you know you have a friend running the show.

Also, it's not about me. Really, it's not. (Thanks, Mary.)
So, I'll stop typing and start wishing you a beautiful weekend.
